King Solicitors Northampton - Our Background

Clifford King, the firm’s principal, has spent most of his career in private practice in working in the City of London in the West End and also outside London.  He has in addition worked in the legal department of a large corporate organisation where the property work was closely integrated with the company’s general property function. 

Firms at which he has worked include Freshfields, Ashurst Morris, Simmons & Simmons and Kingsley Napley. 

The in house experience was gained in the legal department at what was then known as Standard Telephones & Cables (now incorporated in Nortel). 

We believe that this mix of experience enables us to offer the technical skills of private practice combined with the in-house ability to sit alongside the client when looking at problems rather than on the other side of the table.

Experience over the years also suggests that clients like to know that the person they speak to will be the person who then deals with the work. 

Although King Solicitors is a niche practice it is well able to carry out property transactions on a stand alone basis, but they also have considerable experience in working with other disciplines both within the practice and also with other outside counsel and in-house counsel.
